National Moth Week is a global citizen science event that encourages people to discover and record moths in their local communities.
We’ll set up lights shining onto white sheets to attract these remarkable nocturnal insects. As moths arrive throughout the evening, we’ll identify and record the different species, contributing valuable observations that help scientists monitor biodiversity and teach us about insect ecology.
Mothing is part science, part treasure hunt, and completely magical! It’s a chance to step into the nighttime world of moths and discover an astonishing diversity of creatures that most of us never notice.
